"Wonderful overview of how boards are structured and what our roles are as board member. I had served on a board for about 1 year before attending this session and this brought it all together. My analogy is: I felt like I was putting together a puzzle but didn't have the picture of the final product. Board Member Basics was the picture and also the instruction manual that said; here are all of the pieces that you should have. If there were something missing, I knew what it was and how to start filling the gaps."
Pam Burdette-Miller, Vice President, Amos House

"Understanding the board building cycle helps us realize what it takes to have a healthy, productive board. Because of your session; we have refreshed our board member orientation book and reviewed/discussed it during our strategic planning session. We are currently working on improving step #5: Involve. We are finding what interest each board member has and aligning them with committees."
Pam Burdette-Miller, Vice President, Amos House

"I had a great time at the Board Member Roundtable discussion last evening. It is a wonderful way to network with other board members and discuss common challenges and common successes. I always like the ideas that people share and I have a goal to take away at least one to implement (either with my board or my business). I have attended 2 or 3 of these sessions and found that our board's ups and downs are similar to others. I have connected with other Board Members and started building relationships with them to see if we have synergies to share or build upon."
