How is The Volunteer Center DIFFERENT from all other Greater Danbury Nonprofits?

The Volunteer Center serving Western Connecticut provides services to BOTH individuals and nonprofit organizations. We are the catalyst for community engagement. We connect people to volunteer service and provide resources to strengthen nonprofit organizations.

We encourage people to become involved in volunteerism and civic leadership by providing information and resources to facilitate volunteer engagement with the nonprofit community. For nonprofit organizations, The Volunteer Center is dedicated to offering services to assist with all their volunteer needs, including Board Member and Volunteer Management training, networking opportunities for nonprofit board members and volunteer managers, and special projects which impact the lives of their clients.

Your support of The Volunteer Center helps ALL nonprofits do a better job in achieving their respective missions.

We are the catalyst for community involvement. We connect people to service and organizations that need volunteers - this year we referred 2,500 volunteers to work with 150 nonprofit organizations.

During our 34 year history, The Volunteer Center has grown and matured from a volunteer-led clearing house for recruiting and placing volunteers to a professional organization totally focused on addressing the volunteer needs of our community. We are committed to being a great community partner to all nonprofits in Western Connecticut.
